  1. I am not a Griffin descendant. I did however play the role of Capt. Edward Griffin at a local historical event held by the Madison Historical Society. In the course of preparing for that I did some research. One of the stories associated with Capt Griffin was his abhorrence of his son Harry. On his death bed and for six months after his death he ran ads in the local newspapers that read like this. “CAUTION. All persons are forbid employing, harbouring, or trusting HENRY A. GRIFFIN, on penalty of the Law. EDWARD GRIFFIN East-Guilford, April 20. And I believe left him a paltry $20 dollar. Associated rumor was that when Harry was young he accompanied Edward on one his many voyages to the caribbean and Capt Griffin through him overboard and left him for dead. Dont have any primary sources to substantiate this story.
