Family of Samuel and Dinah Nettleton

This record of the family of Samuel and Dinah is located in Volume 1 of the land deeds in Killingworth. There are two earlier volumes that mark the beginnings of Killingworth. Those first two volumes contain the original town charter, early vital records, town business and the earliest land deeds. After those two volumes town, church and land records where organized into separate collections. However in the first two volumes to the new land deed records the city fathers copied down a large collection of accumulated vital records. Key to the collection is the individual family records. Someone, the town clerk, each head of house, someone compiled the birth records for each family and added it in one concise little record. The handwritings hints that some of the records may have been written by individuals recording their own family. Here we have the family of Samuel and Dinah Nettleton. It shows a date of birth for Mercy as June 11, 1841. We also have posted her baptismal date which was later in July.
